What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
Today
we focussed on our Sites...I think this is what alot of us where waiting for!
It was lovely to talk more about the visible aspect of these sites and also how
the sites can range from person to person.
I
enjoyed viewing the different sites from around Nz, and there were a few that
caught my eye as a creator that I definitely would like to look more at and
even borrow some ideas.
As
a team we were able to recognise things that worked and things that didn’t which
was awesome as sometimes teaching and learning can actually be lonely if you
are working through an Inquiry. I really liked having the feedback from all the
DFI team on my own site as we often don’t get feedback from whanau or tamariki.
Like I mentioned in my WWW- I had to have a big tantrum and walk away for 24
hours before engaging in my site so I hope now I have the knowledge to improve
but also keep my vision

What did I learn that could be used with my learners?
Todays tool were very helpful like being able to create
little additions to our site that will encourage engagement and ease of use. I just really enjoyed the human voice and perspective from today that has given me encouragement to take a risk...like the roles have been reversed in someways me beign the learner. I have been very blessed in Lockdown to have my own children help me design things on my page so that has worked in well with my adventures online.
It was fun to work together and see the great creations from others and hear their narrative about their journies.
It is really like we are in the classroom - watching and learning from each other, which is exactly where the tamariki will be when we have all finished this course :-)
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
This one still is hard for me as I am a bit of a over planner! I need more research and time to look at how the links are made between Digi Planning and normal/ old school planning. Especialy in regards to reflections. I think at first i might borrow a template from other Digi person and have a play with that to see what fits and how thie workflow could change to become more online
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life? hahaha what personal life...im a teacher...LOLS! I think the above might help ther inregards to being able to make the slide work as my planning- not doing 2 things. However I have to also remember that at present in class my class dont use the website they are very reliant on me for instruction and learning. It will take time but I am starting my way forward with a clear picture thanks to the team today xxx

Kia ora Mel,
ReplyDeleteNgā mihi nui for being so brave and sharing your class site with us all from the start! You have made a great start. I agree, it is great to be able to work together in a small group and learn from each other in this way. I picked up heaps of things just from hearing other peoples questions / problems being answered / solved by Vicki. Nā, M
Kia ora Mel,
ReplyDeleteAs Meryn said, thank you for sharing your site with us. It was great to be able to see what you had created and your thinking behind it. I really do feel when we are creating sites like this it really is about putting ourselves in those learners shoes. Having a go at things and then revising, revisiting and making changes when things don't work quite the way we'd like. It's great that you've been able to get your own children to help you out in your journey here. Keep up the awesome mahi!
