What did I learn that increased my understanding of Manaiakalani kaupapa and pedagogy?
Today I enjoyed learning more about the background to MK and it's working history in NZ. I found it really interesting that the range of schools has expanded as word of mouth got around, as well as the collaborative nature of sharing the assessment and progress happening in Auckland.
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow as a professional?
It was good to be able to refresh my learning around the shortcuts we can do on google for example the Clear formatting or the numbering of folders on Gdoc. I will share those tips with the synicate alongside the Google groups, text to talk milage, reporting documents with contents pages and explore tools. I also think I will investigate Blogger as a reporting tool for our families to reduce FB post- allowing for student voice and celebrations.
What did I learn that could be used with my learners?
At present maybe the talk to text could be a possiblity however I am not sure how this will work in a mainstream classroom with no withdraw space! As metioned Blogger could be worth investigating due to ease of visabilty and use. Can connect with QR and family overseas- collaborative use.
What did I learn that could improve my confidence, capability or workflow in my personal life?
Maybe working smarter re planning and reporting?
Having fun with my family Create task
Kia ora Mel,
ReplyDeleteWell done on completing your first session of DFI and your very first blog post! OK... so your family create task is fan-flippin-tastic! It had me in fits of giggles opening all the hyperlinks. I can see you are going to have a lot of fun doing all the create tasks during the course; alongside all the 'serious' learning you will be doing too of course. Great to have you with us each week. M
Kia ora Mel,
ReplyDeleteIt was great to meet you on Tuesday. As I've said via email I think your create task is the best I've seen over many DFI's! Voice typing can definitely be used in a classroom without breakout spaces, I've seen some teachers get creative, using cubbies as a recording pod - pop your device in and sit with your head in the cubbie! Or using a paper cup, cut a hole in, aim it at your mic (you may need to identify where the mic is on your device) or lots of other creative ways to get that sound best to the device.
Looking forward to continuing with you on this journey.
Ngā mihi nui
